Chinese Sticky Ribs

Delicious Chinese sticky ribs with a flavorful marinade that combines sweet, savory, and aromatic elements. Perfectly grilled for a sticky glaze that will have everyone coming back for more.

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks of baby back ribs

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar

  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic

  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger

  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat


Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and cut them into individual ribs


In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, Chinese five-spice powder, and red pepper flakes to make the marinade


Place the ribs in a large resealable plastic bag and pour half of the marinade over them


Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results


Remove the ribs from the bag and discard the marinade


Grill the ribs over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and have a nice char


During the last 5 minutes of grilling, baste the ribs with the remaining marinade to create a sticky glaze


Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes


Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving
